Yalova is among the top ten cities in real estate sales

Yalova is among the preferred cities for investors to obtain Turkish citizenship.

Yalova city in northwestern Turkey was among the most preferred cities by foreigners wishing to own a property to obtain Turkish citizenship, in the first quarter of this year 2022.

Turkish sources stated that for the first quarter of 2022, Istanbul was the most preferred city by foreigners to obtain citizenship, followed by Antalya, Ankara, Yalova, Izmir, Mersin, Mugla, Bursa, Trabzon, and Sakarya, respectively.

Turkish sources indicated that according to the investments made by foreigners in Turkey to obtain citizenship based on all types of real estate in the first quarter of 2022, Iran ranked first, followed by Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Palestine, China, Russia, Jordan, and Lebanon. 

According to the same Turkish sources, "Yalova" was also among the top ten Turkish cities in real estate sales during the period from January to last April, along with Istanbul, Antalya, Ankara, Mersin, Bursa, Izmir, Samsun, Sakarya, and Trabzon.

Yalova city, located in the middle of 3 major cities in Turkey, Istanbul, Bursa, and Izmit, where its privileged location enables reaching those cities within one hour whether by land or sea, whereas it takes a few hours to reach Ankara, Burs, a and Izmit, which makes the settlement in Yalova comfortable and away from the crowds of major cities.

The real estate sector in Turkey recorded an increase in the number of housing units sold to foreigners by 45.1% during the first quarter of this year 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, according to the Anatolia news agency.

And the Turkish Statistical Authority announced that "Real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey increased by 31% in March, while the number of units sold in March also reached 5,567 housing units".


The number of properties sold to Russians reached 1,535 units, with a 63.6% increase compared to the first quarter of the last year 2021. In general, the percentage of real estate sales to foreigners during the mentioned period increased.

During the first quarter of this year 2022, the Germans bought 617 housing units, the Kazakhs 570 units, 486 units were sold to the Afghans, and 382 to the Kuwaitis. Citizens of Ukraine, Yemen, and, Jordan came among the top ten.

Sources interested in the real estate market confirmed that these data and figures "indicate that the real estate investment sector in Turkey maintains its attractiveness, and also shows the confidence of foreign investors in Turkey."

They added, "Exceeding sales to foreigners is a positive thing that indicates the continuation of the momentum gained by the flow of foreign currencies to the country, and this also reflects the confidence of foreign investors in Turkey, and their view of the country has not changed, whatever the circumstances."

Those interested in the real estate market expressed their expectations that real estate sales to foreigners will continue to increase as the effects of the Corona epidemic begin to recede throughout Turkey, noting that it is expected to close this year with a record for real estate sales in Turkey.
